Applying for a Visa

Step 3 – Scheduling a visa appointment through one of our two online visa appointment systems.

All nonimmigrant visa applicants, including those applicants traveling for transit, tourism, business, or other short-term stays, require an appointment for an interview.

UAE residents only:
All applicants, children and adults, must have their own online visa appointment. Parents may apply for children under 14 years of age by making an online visa appointment and appearing for an interview on their behalf. Children under the age of 14 who are resident in the UAE should not appear at the Consulate for their visa interview.

IRAN residents only:
All applicants, children and adults, must have their own online visa appointment. All Iranian residents, including children under the age of 14, must appear at the Consulate for their visa interview.

Only visa applicants with appointments made through their appropriate calendar will be allowed into the Consulate. To make an appointment, please have the following information available:

  1. Complete name as it appears in your passport
  2. Passport number
  3. Date in mind for interview (allow for approximately 3 to 4 months before travel)
  4. Barcode Number located on the confirmation page of Form DS 160
  5. Contact telephone number and email address

Once you have completed the visa appointment process, you will be prompted to print a receipt page. Please print and bring this receipt page with you to your interview. PLEASE NOTE YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER, AS YOU WILL NEED THIS NUMBER TO CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT.
