Statement by the President on Recent Bombings in Baghdad, Iraq
I strongly condemn these outrageous attacks on the Iraqi people, and send my deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones. These bombings serve no purpose other than the murder of innocent men, women and children, and they only reveal the hateful and destructive agenda of those who would deny the Iraqi people the future that they deserve. These attempts to derail Iraq's progress are no match for the courage and resilience of the Iraqi people, and their determination to build strong institutions. The United States will stand with Iraq's people and government as a close friend and partner as Iraqis prepare for elections early next year, continue to take responsibility for their future, and build greater peace and opportunity. Together, we will continue to work for lasting security, dignity, and justice.

نص بيان الرئيس عن تفجيرات اليوم في بغداد بالعراق
إنني أشجب بشدة هذه الهجمات الفظيعة على الشعب العراقي وأبعث بأحر التعازي لأولئك الذين فقدوا أحباءهم. إن هذه التفجيرات لا تخدم أي غرض سوى قتل الأبرياء من رجال ونساء وأطفال وتكشف عن الأجندة البغيضة الهدامة لأولئك الذين يحرمون الشعب العراقي من المستقبل الذي يستحقه. ثم إن هذه المحاولات لتحويل تقدم العراق عن مساره ليست ندا لشجاعة الشعب العراقي وقدرته على التكيّف ولتصميمه على بناء مؤسسات قوية. وستقف الولايات المتحدة إلى جانب شعب العراق وحكومته كصديق حميم وشريك بينما يستعد العراقيون للانتخابات في أوائل العام القادم ويواصلون تولي مسؤولية مصيرهم بأنفسهم وبناء سلام أشمل وفرص أكبر. وسنواصل العمل معا من أجل تحقيق الأمن الدائم والكرامة والعدل.
ملاحظة: تحدث الرئيس أوباما إلى الرئيس العراقي جلال الطالباني ورئيس الوزراء نوري المالكي في نحو الساعة الواحدة بعد ظهر الأحد بتوقيت شرق الولايات المتحدة وأعرب لهما عن تعازيه بضحايا الهجمات وأكد التزام الولايات المتحدة بالوقوف إلى جانب العراقيين.
