The American School of Dubai Promotes Community Breast Cancer Awareness
On October 24, 2007, the American School of Dubai hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness event for the school community, with the support of the Consulate General and in coordination with local breast cancer activists. Families were invited to bring along household employees to receive breast cancer screening information. Consulate General nurse Cherilyn Williams provided counseling on healthcare and Consul General Paul Sutphin discussed promoting awareness with participants and breast cancer survivors. The school raised money for local breast cancer causes with a pink bake sale and sales of pink bracelets and other accessories, as well as signing up 100 participants for the Burjuman Breast Cancer Walk-a-thon.
