U.S. Under Secretary for Political Affairs Nick Burns Visits UAE
During his January 22 – 23 visit to the United Arab Emirates, Under Secretary for Political Affairs Nick Burns met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to review the progress of friendship and cooperation between the United States of American and United Arab Emirates. U.S. Ambassador to the UAE Michele J. Sison, Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, and Director of International Affairs at the Crown Prince’s Court Yusuf Mana Al Utaibeh attended the meeting. The group exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern. Sheikh Mohammed commented on the steady progress of relations between the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates and underscored the need for supporting efforts to bring about peace and stability at both the regional and international levels.
