General Visa Information
New Iraqi passport requirements
The United States Government recently announced the following regulations regarding visa processing for Iraqi passports:
- H and G series Iraqi passports = valid for visa processing and travel to the US.
- M and N series passports = current visas are valid for travel to the US as long as presented together with a G series passport. No new visas will be issued in M and N series passports.
- S series passport = not valid for visa processing or travel to the US.
Please note that the US Consulate General in Dubai only accepts visa applications from Iraqi passport holders with an H or G series Iraqi passport. Applications will not be accepted without an H or G series passport.
All applicants for U.S. visitor visas must have an interview appointment. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting our online appointment system 24 hours a day, any day of the week. Consulate staff cannot schedule or confirm appointments.
The U.S. Consulate General in Dubai recommends correspondence by e-mail at dubaivisaenquiry@state.gov. We accepts visa-related inquiries by telephone (+971-(0)4-311-6000) on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 3 and 4 p.m., as well as on Mondays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
