Visa Case Status
The majority of approved visas are ready within two to three business days after the visa interview, but visa processing time varies. Certain visa applications require administrative processing that will delay visa issuance. Administrative processing can delay some visas for 175 days or more. Please plan ahead and apply for a visa well in advance of your desired travel date to the United States.
Visa Status
If you have been given a yellow sheet of paper during your visa interview, you will find your visa case number written at the top of the paper. Please click here to check the status of your visa application and follow the instructions for your case. When your visa is ready to be processed, you may return to the Consulate, fill out an Empost label, and drop off your passport any Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 7:30 and 9:00 am. You do not need an appointment. You may drop off your passport personally, or another person may drop it off for you. Your passport will be returned by Empost within the following two to three business days.
