American Fulbright Students in UAE Meet for Exchange of Ideas
October 25, 2009 – Seven American Fulbright Program students and scholars currently studying in the UAE visited the U.S. Consulate General for an exchange of ideas with Consulate employees. During their visit, the Fulbright participants met with Consul General Justin Siberell and several other Consulate officers to learn more about US-UAE bilateral relations, and to share their experiences as Fulbright participants in the UAE.
The Fulbright participants are currently placed at Dubai School of Government, Zayed University in Dubai, HCT Abu Dhabi, and UAEU in Al Ain. They areas of research include urbanism (with a focus on the Dubai Metro), PET imaging, Islam and Bioethics, Nutrition, Visual Arts, Disability Rights, and research on the history of the UAE pearl trade.
The Fulbright program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Government, and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.
The Fulbright Program provides participants – chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential – with the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, and exchange ideas to contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.
