UAE Teachers and Administrators partner with U.S. Embassy on Internet Integration Programs

March 4, 2009 – More than 30 teachers and administrators from across the UAE gathered in Khorfakan for a three-day International Education and Resource Network (I-EARN) workshop focused on connecting youth around the world to enhance learning.  The program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, provides Emirati teachers with training and materials to integrate the Internet into their classrooms.

The program focuses on encouraging teachers to use the Internet as a teaching and learning tool.  With more than 1 million kindergarten through 12th grade teachers and students participating in over 110 countries, UAE classrooms will be connected to a network of global students and teachers.  The program facilitates collaboration between classrooms around the world, on programs of shared interest related to science, the environment, community outreach, English language learning, and a wide range of other topics.
