U.S. Consul General Welcomed at SCHS
January 17, Dubai – The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) welcomed U.S. Consul General Rob Waller to the Family Affairs Council. Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi hosted a presentation for ‘Disabled Women Entrepreneurs’ as part of a series of five-day workshops to raise awareness of their rights as entrepreneurs and persons with disabilities.
On this occasion, Her Highness Jameela bint Mohammad Al Qasimi presented the U.S. Consul General with an Award of Appreciation for the close relationship shared between SCHS and the United States Government over the last 25 years. Consul General Waller thanked her Highness for continuing to partner with the U.S. mission to the United Arab Emirates and conveyed the importance the United States places in working together with SCHS in special education and disability rights. Consul General Waller also had the opportunity to meet several women participants at the workshop engaged in enhancing their public speaking skills and to learn more of their self-empowering commitments to health, education, entrepreneurship, and art.
Consul General Waller offered in behalf of the U.S. Mission to the United Arab Emirates glass artist Dale Chihuly’s Gardens Installations, a coffee-table book that showcases the tranquil exchange between art and nature.
